Lube Job

Reverse-painted plastic, steel, aluminum, lights, 2003. Editions vary.
This set of work features 10 signs representing the largest publicly traded oil companies.
The size of each reflects total gross revenues of 2001.

Some signs were shown at Savage in Portland in 2003, in "Open House: Working in Brooklyn" in 2004, and in my solo show "No Purchase Necessary" at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in 2009 in Lafayette LA. All were in "Crude," a solo show at Roebling Hall gallery in Brooklyn in 2003.

Exxon Mobil had its own room in "Open House: Working in Brooklyn" in 2004. This video is from my solo show "No Purchase Necessary" at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in 2009 in Lafayette LA. This piece is 7.25' x7.25' x 2'd.
